Other info: this game was officially announced at E3 of 2009 at the Microsoft press conference a teaser trailer was released by the games director hideo kojima although with this game he will only hold the position of executive producer. It will be on the ps3 and Xbox 360.



Well since your face is glued to your monitor or whatever you use to view the internet you might as well indulge yourself in learning about the soon to be latest installment of Metal Gear Solid. That’s right they made another one, Metal Gear Solid Rising: Lighting Bolt Action. Or as I like to call it MGSRLBA, to bad that will never catch on.



In Metal Gear Solid Rising you take on the role as the cyborg ninja Raiden and if you’re a MGS fan this is probably making you wet your pants. The events in Metal Gear Solid Rising take place after MGS2: Sons of Liberty showing how Raiden will develop into the Metal Gear slaying, high speed juggernaut he is in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. The plot and story development for the video game is scarce and Hideo Kojima’s team doesn’t plan on releasing information anytime soon. In other words there is no story, at least not yet. Creator Shigenbou Matsuyma, yes that’s right no Kojima this time guys, plans to go a different direction with the MGS playing style. As you notice the sub-title to this game is Lighting Bolt Action as in its fast and not the same tactical based stealthy MGS we all know and love. For Metal Gear Solid Fanatics, this may seem like an upset and may also take some adjusting. But don’t cry because you can still do all the “oh so” exciting snooping and crawling you like. The whole new battle system due to the fact that it doesn’t run on the MGS4 engine allows players to get right in your enemies face. Figuratively and literally, players will be able to cut their prey into bits and pieces and choose what they wish to cut. This is called the “cut and take” system. This will also allow players to receive life, parts, ammunition, items and even information. Thanks to this game, I finally get a chance to have my life long dream as a butcher. Wouldn’t mom be proud?

Metal Gear Solid rising was officially announced at E3 of 2009 at the Microsoft press conference. As for platforms, it will be released on the Playstation 3 of course, due to its long history of being on the console’s predecessors this was a given. But here’s the surprise, its also going to be released on the XBOX 360. Although it’s another title that XBOX will have that their players won’t buy, but it’s not like this has ever happened before (Final Fantasy 13, Tales of Vesperia). If you’re wondering about the release date, its still “to be announced”. Don’t you just love those stinging words? I predict it will be released in spring of 2011 but you can be sure that Metal Gear Rising will be something worth playing. I salute you Raiden, just keep that sword pointed away from me.
