Organic, green, eco-friendly – what does it all mean?  Well, we might not can explain the context of how others define these terms, but for Modern Furniture Warehouse , our organic furniture is carefully selected to ensure no harsh chemicals are used in the construction or materials of any pieces we decide to carry.  Just as we are all becoming more aware of what we consume in our diets, attention is now being focused on those items we bring into our homes.  Some furniture manufacturers have traditionally used chemicals such as formaldehyde as a preserver in materials and fabrics.  Of course, in small amounts, it’s not considered harmful to humans or pets; however, if you could altogether eliminate many of these chemicals in some of your home décor and furnishings, why wouldn’t you?  The fact is, the next decade promises to bring forth even more eco-friendly and organic home furnishings . And if you think organic furniture is going to be far too expensive, think again.  Many of our eco-friendly home furnishings are comparable with the same affordable pricing you’ve come to expect from our offerings.  Before long, you’ll likely discover far more organic baby furniture, organic living room sets and other organic home décor. Just How is Organic Furniture Differentiated? Organic furniture is different than traditional furnishings for a couple reasons.  First, much of the material used is recycled.  Another way it’s defined is by its absence of man-made chemicals.  No herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers or chemical flammable materials are used.  It has little, if any, negative effect on the environment and surprisingly, it’s far more durable and sustainable.  Organic furniture, although a relatively new concept, is quickly catching the attention of everyday families who wish to play a role in ensuring the well-being of our planet.  Advances are being made on a daily basis and this sector of home furniture is growing quickly. Bamboo is an excellent example of sustainable organic furniture material, as are other hearty and plentiful woods that are easily re-grown. We invite you to browse our ever-growing catalog of organic home furnishings and see for yourself the advantages it can offer as we each continue to do our part in ensuring we leave a healthier planet.
