Monday Night Combat The Assassin Game Guide

Here are some quick tips on how to own with the assassin in Monday Night Combat:


Your Primary Goal:
The Assassin’s primary goal in the game is to eliminate targets that are cutting off paths. That’s what you should be focusing on the entire match. Gunner mowing down targets on the left flank? Take him out. Support glued to his firebase? Assassinate him and let your team take out firebase now that it’s on its own.

Pick Your Battles:
Monday Night Combat uses a Rock Paper Scissor type mechanic for who has the advantage in each battle. For the Assassin, its prey is the Gunner, and it’s natural enemy is the Tank. The Gunner is a prime target for the Assassin because even though it is an attacking powerhouse, it’s squishy, and the assassin should focus on making the opposing Gunner rage quit, leaving your Tank (Gunners target) free to wreack havoc. Also, as the Assassin, you DO NOT need to attack everyone you see, you have to know when to walk away from a fight, to pick off an easier target.

USE YOUR SMOKE BOMBS:
This is the most underused ability in the game, but it is fantastic from running away, and more importantly, you can super jump with it, and if this is done right, you look like you just disappeared into thin air. Magic right?

Quick in, Quick Out:
As well as being the (arguably) deadliest character, the assassin is the weakest class. She has absolutely no health, and if you get attacked first, you’re a gonner. So when you’re on the battlefield, you must be cloaked, and you must strike as silently, and make sure you actually kill your target. Your attack order is best when you attack cloaked, from behind, dash for two seconds and then smoke bomb any followers and launch yourself into the air. You then slink into the darkness, and wait to pick your next target. Also, word of advice: NEVER ATTACK A TANK. You will lose.

Build Order: Seems to work best when you go along the lines of:

Assassin Level 2

Cloak Level 2

Assassin Level 3

Dash Level 2

Cloak Level 3

Smoke Bomb 2

Dash Level 3

Smoke Bomb 3

This is the general build order I go for when playing the Assassin.
