More New Features That We Hope for in IE9 Browser

Microsoft unveiled more features of its new Internet Explorer browser, IE9 at Mix 2010. IE9 is set to bridge the gap between Internet Explorer and popular browsers by boosting its features and these powerful IE9 features are sure to do just that.

HTML5

HTML5 support in IE9 is probably the most powerful new addition to Microsoft's latest installment of Internet Explorer. What's HTML5? Only the latest and most powerful edition of the code that everything on the net runs on, that's all. Being that IE9 will support HTML5 features in its new browser, Internet Explorer 9 will be a way more powerful upgrade from its predecessor, Internet Explorer 8.

HTML5 features added in the new IE9 include h.264 video (the alleged Flash killer), Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), the new CSS3, and lots more. The powerful HTML5 will make Microsoft's IE9 keep up with the current trends of the constantly evolving internet browsers, add extra speed, and add a boatload of powerful features that might actually sway some people to start using the new Internet Explorer, when they're not at work.

New JavaScript Engine - Chakra

JavaScript is what keeps most of those web apps you enjoy wasting time on online running and usually the best way to measure a browser's speed is by testing how fast it can render JavaScript. The new JavaScript engine, code named Chakra, runs JavaScript in the background of your computer on a separate CPU core, that's parallel to the Internet Explorer 9 browser - which will make for much faster JavaScript rendering and a better overall internet experience.

Direct X Video Acceleration

IE9 goes further to make sure it speeds up your internet experience by integrating Direct X video acceleration features. Internet Explorer 9's Direct X video acceleration will work with scalable vector graphics, CSS3 rendering, text rendering, and pretty much make for a better (and more powerful) browsing experience with Microsoft's new Internet Explorer release.

The Direct X video acceleration features of IE9 will use less CPU power than other popular browsers, and left Google Chrome smoking in IE9's trails when Microsoft demonstrated Internet Explorer 9 running two 720p HD videos simultaneously while Google Chrome lagged with just one.

IE9 will definitely be a lot better than Internet Explorer 8, with its more powerful features that'll make browsing the internet a lot faster on the default PC web browser. Unfortunately Internet Explorer 9 isn't released, but you can download the beta and experience some of these features before Internet Explorer's official release.
