It’s a bold statement to make but mountain biking my way is definitely going to change your life forever. It’s true that you need to b able to get out and do the exercise necessary to keep yourself healthy all the time, but you also need to be able to manage and maintain the equipment side of things as well. Not only do you need to be fit a and strong enough to handle any outdoor trip on your bicycle, but your bicycle also needs to be able to handle any tough situation out there that you may encounter at any stage of your ride. That means you need to be out on the bike six or seven days a week peddling your heart out just to make sure you can handle the stress. It also means that you have to buy a bike that it capable of handling the terrain that you are planning to cross.

If you just want a road bike, then you will need something light weight and sturdy to keep you going and won’t weight you down. As a personal Martin Simich recommendation, if you are going to go hardcore and do all the off road stuff then you will need something with shocks and a solid frame to handle any bumps, knocks and jumps that you might encounter along the way. It’s a sad thing to admit, but a decent bicycle is going to cost you a fair penny to buy and you will definitely need to save up for it if you want to take it seriously. The costs do not stop at the bike though; you also have to consider the costs for riding gear, helmets, gloves and possibly even a hydration system to keep you hydrated during your ride. You can stick to the normal water bottle if you want, but the amount of liquid in there is often limited and you could run out quite quickly. Proper cycling gear is well padded in the crotch area because you have to be comfortable on your seat. If you have to ask any cyclist how their rear ends feel after long ride they would most likely tell you that it gets pretty sore. If you can get as much cushioning in there as possible then you should be alright.

Other than that, it’s important to get the right nutrition to make sure you have enough energy to burn while you are riding. You need to make sure that you are equipped for the ride and that you are physically capable of doing so.
