My Families Health Insurance Coverage Has Been Very Helpful

Health insurance has always been something that we felt was always necessary and have carried it since we were married. I remember as a kid my family always had it, it was mandatory for my dad. Regardless of how many times we could not afford it we would always maintain it, it was the right thing to do for my family. With a family of three my employer provided a health insurance policy that was pretty good. The co pay for doctor visits, dental and vision was only $25.00 and full hospital coverage deductible of $2500.00. The three of us were always really healthy and hardly needed to see a doctor through out the year and only needed the emergency room once in 5 years when I broke my ankle. When my son was four he started suffering from abnormal symptoms and the doctors thought he might have a disease called MS. We prayed and waited for more symptoms to appear and took many test. Then one day it was confirmed and our life would never be the same. My son seems as if he is taking it better then us, always smiling and staying positive. The most difficult part for us was and still is learning to cope. We have certainly learned a lot from him and will probably continue to in the future. Now that time has passed I can't help but wonder how we could have gotten through it without a solid health insurance company. What could our life have been without it and would I have been able to afford the type of consistent, professional health care that my son is getting today? The expenses are climbing as time goes on and the bills have been quite overwhelming in the past. There is no way we could have handled this or even most people for that matter. Combine the stress, emotional suffering and the endless dedication plus the worry of how we were going to pay for it, I believe it would be impossible for anybody. We can't be thankful enough for the service and dedication the insurance company has provided us. We could not have gotten this far without it.
