"What gives man the right to take another person's life for something as simple as a little disorderly conduct at a gym that you were a member of?" Diane Smith, David Smith's mother.

No clergy, Black leadership organizations or the mayor's office has called a press conference to address the unusual and heinous death of David Cornelius Smith. This seems to be an ongoing trend in the Twin Cities. The Minneapolis Urban League; Council on Black Minnesotans, NAACP and Black clergy have taken a back seat and refuse to rise up against the White plantation infrastructure. How will the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights react? Will this be a continued Black Silent Night?

Minneapolis, MN. (IBNN NEWS/September 18, 2010)...The Minneapolis based newspaper, Star Tribune reported; " 28-year old David Cornelius Smith had been on life support at Hennepin County Medical Center since the Sept. 9 tasing incident where witnesses confirm that Smith was hand cuffed while being tased by Minneapolis police. This incident took place in downtown Minneapolis at the YMCA in the lobby.

Larry Smith of Oak Park, Ill, David's uncle, confirmed the report of his nephew being hand cuffed and tased. Also, sources and the Strib report that Smith's uncle said his nephew was hand cuffed while he was being Tased (Read the full story here).

Other reports from unidentified EMT sources say that Smith was pronounced dead at the scene and an attempt is being made to cover up the incident by putting the victim on life support as if he was only slightly injured. IBNN NEWS and the NRI questions the motives of HCMC, Star Tribune, WCCO Channel 4 and the Minneapolis Police Department on the waiting period of 10 days before any information was released or citizens of the Twin Cities were updated by the mainstream media.

IBNN and NRI attests, this was a coordinated effort to misled, obstruct and deny information about an alleged police action(s) that caused a death of a Black man. Also in question are the security tapes. Will the YMCA security tapes be affected by the "Fong Lee Syndrome?"

IBNN NEWS and the National Research Institute received several anonymous phone calls from individuals identifying themselves as "witnesses" who watched the events on September 9th at the YMCA." One man said, "This was an uncalled for use of force and that Ms. Smith was no threat to officers on the scene."

This crisis has now turn into an opportunity for the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights to launch and investigation into this incident because there is a stench of alleged police brutality and misconduct in the events surrounding Mr. Smith's circumstances.

The Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights has not actively initiated an investigation in over 20 years sources tell IBNN NEWS.
