Pack properly to avoid compensation problems

When you send a package by post or international courier, you are usually protected by a compensation scheme in the event of something going wrong. However, there are certain fragile items that are often excluded and don’t actually qualify for compensation in the event of an accident. Anyone sending fragile items through the post needs to make themselves aware of exactly what is and isn’t covered. It’s not difficult to understand why certain items are excluded from compensation schemes – the chances of them breaking in transit are simply too high. For example, glassware, mirrors, dinner sets, pottery and watches can be so fragile it would only take a small knock to break them. If you have a package travelling from England to the other side of the world, then the chances of it taking a bang during the journey is quite high. It’s for this reason that you should always take extra special care when sending delicate items either through the post or with a world courier service. Packing things properly is a necessity and anyone sending packages over long distances should pay particular attention to this stage of the delivery process. Using good quality packing materials is the first step as this will ensure your package remains sturdy throughout its journey. Check the item you are sending cannot move about and shake within its container as this is very important. Use polystyrene pieces, tissue paper or newspaper to make sure there’s a snug fit and no rattling. Wrap your items in bubble wrap or place them in a jiffy bag to give another layer of cushioning and secure this with strong, brown tape.     Once you’ve sealed you’re item in a sturdy box it should be ready for whatever the journey can throw at it. By making sure your items are packed with care, you won’t have to worry about compensation in the first place. Remember though, that even the best wrapping won’t protect your parcel if it isn’t handled with care.    Using a reputable courier is the only way to guarantee that your package is in safe hands and will be looked after during its journey. A company without a strong reputation to protect might not be that bothered if your parcel arrives in one piece or not. By using the services of reliable world couriers with a solid reputation and plenty of experience of making worldwide deliveries , you are giving your package the best possible chance of arriving at its destination unharmed, in perfect condition.
