Fragranced oils, perfumes and other scents have been worn by people since early civilization. Today, fragrances can be found everywhere - from perfumed candles, to bath and body products which have been made by many different companies. There are many reasons why people wear perfume, but eventually it comes down to the fact that they make us feel happy. The very reason we feel cheerful is heavily reliant on the person, but it can range from the presence of pheromones or memories that the scent gives out.

Wearing perfume is an art and should be applied in such a manner that allows the fragrance to interact with your body chemistry and produce your personalized version of the scent or your signature scent.

In general a fragrance may last six to eight hours depending on the nature of an individual’s skin like oily skin and dry skin. Fragrances tend to last longer on oily skin as there is more natural moisture to help retain the scent. Therefore, if you have dry skin, it would be a great idea to use a fragrance free moisturizer before applying perfume as this would delay the wearing off of the scent.

Men have a range of male Perfumes in the toiletries’ section of Oriflamme, Avon and other cosmetics’ companies. Axe is a brand of deodorants owned by HLL, which is making waves amongst the younger generation. The brand is advertised to enhance the male-virility and hence greater attraction from females.

Women are incomplete without perfumes. Even if you are dressed-up in a very sophisticated manner if you smell bad you are considered repulsive. Even in offices, females are recognized for mild and sweet fragrances.

It is important to apply your perfume at the right places to make sure that the fragrance will last throughout the day. Pulse points are the best places on your body that yield the best results. The base of the throat, back of the neck, cleavage, wrists, crook of your elbows, back of the knees and even your ankles are some of the pulse points where the scent of your perfume will linger. The ideal time to apply perfume is just after a shower or bath as the pores of your skin will be open and this in turn would make the scent last longer. One important caution is that avoid spraying on jewellery and clothes as this would result in damages and stains.
