A late season bye might be exactly what the Pittsburgh Steelers need to make a run at the AFC's top seed.Tied with Houston within the AFC with seven wins, Pittsburgh has a very favorable schedule within the final 6 weeks of the season.Coming from the bye week, the Steelers travel to Might, in which the Chiefs will be without quarterback Matt Cassel. While Arrowhead is really a tough stadium to play in, Tyler Palko will likely be starting for Kansas City, and he strikes fear in nobody. They follow this track of back-to-back home games from the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns.Cincinnati proved to be a formidable challenge, and they'll once again try to prove themselves now from the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers is going to be rooting hard for the Bengals to give the Ravens their fourth loss. After losing towards the Ravens twice this year, Pittsburgh will need Baltimore to decrease a game title or two along with looking after their own business. If Pittsburgh can sweep Cincinnati, they have a short week to organize for the Browns, who're the only losing team in the AFC North. The Thursday night game should easily favor the Steelers unless, of course, you will find high wind conditions. If you remember back to 2009, Bruce Arians inexplicably had Ben Roethlisberger throw the ball 32 times in very windy conditions.Pittsburgh would go on to get rid of this game 13-6, eliminating them from playoff contention. Don't expect a slip up this year. The advantage of the Thursday night game will be that the Steelers have on the week to prepare for the surprising Bay area 49ers.Bay area continues to impress each week behind a very good ground attack and the top-rated rushing defense.Pittsburgh Lamarr Woodley Jersey will need to make use of the 49ers weak passing attack and pass defense. However, the cross-country trip can make mtss is a difficult contest. There's a quick turnaround having a Saturday afternoon game against the St. Louis Rams, that is very winnable. In fact, playing in your own home against a very weak Rams team, the Steelers would need to completely look past these phones lose. On the other hand, a week a team can win.Pittsburgh closes the season on New Year's day at Cleveland. The final six opponents actually have a combined record of 26-28, with only Cincinnati and Bay area having winning records. If Pittsburgh can win a minimum of five of their six games, and yes, they are all very winnable, that will bring these phones a 12-4 finish. The very best case scenario is actually to win out and put them in excellent position heading into the playoffs.By winning their remaining games, Pittsburgh would still need at least one loss by Baltimore and something by Houston.Baltimore expires and down and may lose any week. They've laid eggs this season against some very bad teams, and it would not surprise me to determine which happen at least one more time.Meanwhile, the Texans have been in a poor spot without quarterback Matt Schaub. They are able to get by using their ground attack and defense, but at some point, new quarterback Matt Leinart will have to make some plays. The end result is that the Steelers will need to look after their business. The bye week should help them get LaMarr Woodley and Emmanuel Sanders to health, in addition to provide their veterans with a few time off work before the final month and a half of year.Look out if the Steelers have that top seed in the AFC. When they do, they will be primed for an additional Super Bowl run.
