Real estate investors arenot only rich, they are also considered heroes of the neighborhood bymany. Little do they realize that by doing their work, they are able tohelp the whole community. Imagine being liked the neighborhood just fordoing your job – real estate investing – and still get tons of cash from it. Now that’s good work. It is for this reason that people who love to do service to theircommunity are trying real estate investing. Apart from being a goodsource of income, it also allows them to help the neighborhood in smallways. Let us take rehabbing houses for example. When you fix and flip properties, you incidentally helpthe community you are working in. In this kind of job, you lessen thenumber of dilapidated properties in an area. You buy cheap propertiesin need of repair, improve them to raise their value, and then sellthem for a profit. When there are less distressed properties in acertain location, businessmen are encouraged to open shop there. Lessdilapidated properties also means more livable properties, whichtranslates to more residents and more prospective customers forbusinessmen. Traders fear areas with many vacant distressed properties becausethese represent vandalism and possible crime to them. According to the“broken window theory,” an empty house with a broken window can lead toan increase in crime incidence in that area. A broken window, expertssay, encourages vandals to break more windows. After breaking morewindows, they will then vandalize other parts of the house until theybreak into it and use it as a den for vice and illicit activities. Butby rehabbing houses, you can help prevent the broken window scenariofrom happening. Instead of a property vacant and vandalized, you repairand improve it to make it livable. An increase in business establishments in an area also means a risein job opportunities. Through this, the rate of crimes committed due topoverty such as theft and robbery are also lessened. Robbers no longerfeel the need to commit crimes because they already have jobs. You canalso hire residents as rehabbers to give them additional income. If youreally want to help, you can prioritize those who were retrenchedbecause of the recession. These are only a few of the benefits rehabbing and other forms of real estate investing bring to the community. If you want to learn more about real estate investing today, just go to REIwired.com .
