"Reflections of a Simple Man" is a true to life account of overcoming lifelong adversity and addiction. This project was by far the most honest and hardest thing that Rev. Aaron M. Kreps has ever undertaken.  When asked why he would open himself up this way he replied, “Sometimes doing the right thing requires sacrifice, and through my vulnerability I hope others can find strength.  I have seen parts of this great country that we live in that others are blind to, me included until now, and these are dark times that we are living in.  I hope to be one small light in the darkness, and pray to inspire just a few others to be, and them to inspire a few more.  Having been lost in darkness myself, I know the difference a small light can make where there is none.“      Rev Aaron M. Kreps was working on a documentary titled “Undercover Author”, which can be previewed at his website www.aaronmkreps.com , when he was inspired to release part of his own life story.  A year and half into his project, hearing all the stories, getting to know the lives and the pain of the young people involved, and do to his own children’s tragic story, he could no longer write this story and take no action.  He decided to expose himself and try to make a difference.      "Reflections of a Simple Man" is not a traditional poetry book, it is just an average Joes' reflection on self, and the world around him.  In this fast paced world it's far too easy to lose sight of the simple things, and it's those simple things that are life.      "The books' intentions are to provoke thought in readers and hopefully remind them of a simpler time. To inspire people to take the time and see the things that we all look past every day, and maybe even change those things within ourselves that cloud our reflection. The hardest reflection for me to see clear, was always my own."   ABOUT THE AUTHOR:      Aaron M Kreps was born December 18, 1972 in a small town. He grew up in the mountains of Virginia until the age of 6. The son of a very kind, soft-hearted man lost inside of a very violent, drug addicted alcoholic haze, he was a lost soul. His mother was a very strong and devoted woman who always found a way to comfort her children though she had none. He spent most of his childhood in fear searching for understanding that would take years to come. Throughout his life he made many mistakes, by age 18 he had been in and out of trouble, in and out of a foster home, lost more friends than he wanted to remember and seen more pain than he would ever forget. By his 18th birthday he had legally died twice. He did find success as an adult, by his early twenties he was making upwards of $70,000/yr. in the business world, yet he still felt unworthy. By the time he was 25 he had failed at two marriages, thrown 5yrs away to alcohol, and his heart was failing, still it took 10 more years to see his own reflection clearly.      Through all of his own inner battles and mistakes that he made he has always tried to live a life of community service. He has never denied an outstretched hand to anyone in need, friend or stranger. No one has ever been cold or hungry if he knew about it. He has been known to put himself in many potentially dangerous situations for an "at risk" child or young adult. In 2003 his lifestyle of community service was recognized in the form of a Humanitarian Award.      As the father of 2 children that were missing for 7 years, a great portion of all of his works are pledged to charities for missing, exploited and at risk children.      "Reflections of a Simple Man" is available now at online retailers such as: www.amazon.com , www.booksamillion.com , www.barnesandnoble.com , as well as www.authorhouse.com .
