When I said the words till death do us part I believed it. I started my life, built a business, saved enough money to buy a home and start a family. When I would go shopping and see fathers with there kids buying thegroceries for the weekend visits, I never understood why as a man thatguy could never work it out. And when I met single moms with kids, Ialways wondered if it was worth it. I never realized the different reasons why couples divorced and thepain and total destruction associated with it. I was naive to the factthat as individuals we grow and sometimes we grow apart. That's life.Funny thing life! I always thought that if a relationship could beworked out, especially if kids were involved, you did just that, youworked it out. I went on with my life working and providing like many men before me,oblivious to what was really going on. I thought working every day,making sure that there was food for my family and a roof over thereheads was what was needed. I forgot about the little things my wifeneeded, I forgot about the little smiles, flowers and dinners. I tookit for granted that my life was secure and that it was built on astrong foundation. I never thought that a smile from another man wouldchange my life, my son's life, my wife's, our life. I never thought asmile would utterly blow up my life. It did. Now a little about me, I am a very successful business men, wellrespected in community and very well known. When I was propelled intothis situation, I suddenly realized there were no rules, no boundaries,no right or wrong no integrity. For me humiliation and total selfdestruction followed. My business fell to the ground, my income all butceased to exist. I searched for help, I joined groups, I slept withEckhart Tollt tapes, I became a fan of tony Robbins, I cried. I actually sat in a chair facing my store front door for 3 months. My friends picked me up. Slowly I gained my composer, my strength, myability to actually function. This is when I realized there were veryfew father support groups. A place where you can just go and hang withother men in the same situation that have been through what you aregoing through or about to go through. My other career - I speak about life and living a healthy life, so Ifigured this would be a natural stepping stone for me, creating aplatform to help another fathers deal with family. This site is to helpmen cope with what is a head of them: there lives, there wives, therekids, there families. We will handle all aspects of this site withintegrity and fairness. At "Divorced Fathers" we are here to help, tolisten and to support a father, to help him to understand what hashappened and how to deal with it as a father and a business man withstrength dignity and integrity .We have no room here for anything less.
