Sabalan Mountain, the Wonder Peak in Iran!

Sabalan mountain chain, located to the southeast of Meshkin Shahr, in the extreme north of Iran, has the third highest point in this country with the altitude of 4811 m related to the highest peak, called “Soltan Savalan”. Sabalan is originally a volcanic mountain on top of which there is a magnificent lake which is really well-known to anybody. This small river, a major attraction for professional hikers, is probably the remains of the volcano opening. The mountain offers many attractions throughout the year. On the slopes of the mountain, there are fabulous springs attract large number of tourists. There is a faith amongst many people about the healing power of the mineral water in the springs. Sabalan is also known for its beautiful vistas, including the Shirvan gorge, where few climbers ever venture. Due to having rivers, constant glaciers, wonderful springs and intact nature, Sabalan is a unique sample of its creator’s art.
