HTML clipboard (New York, NY) December 4, 2009 -- If you ever needed a reason to start knitting, these new patterns may be it. Designed for Sandra Singh by renowned knitting stars Kirsten Kapur, Renee Leverington and Chrissy Gardiner, these new patterns showcase some of the creative delights found at www.SandraSingh.com. Singh teamed up with three of the knitting world’s hottest designers to bring her customers a fresh take on cold weather styles. The results are patterns that will please both experienced and novice knitters. “These patterns are easier [to make] than they look,” says Singh, who chose the designers for their popularity and design style. The new pattern line SandraSingh.com Exclusive will feature the work of popular or up-and-coming designers. Kapur, of Through the Loop Designs created “Isabella,” a hat/scarf/mitten set that looks like stranded color work, but is actually less difficult to create because the knitter doesn’t have to change yarns. Additionally, the ingenious patterns utilize slipped stitches to look like cabling, a deceptively easy technique that results in a sophisticated look. Leverington, of Goddess Knits, who popularized the Mystery Shawl KALs, was inspired by the desert rose crystal to create her "Desert Rose" shawl. This lacy, triangular shawl is knit in exquisite alpaca lace yarn. Gardiner, of Gardiner Yarn Works, who helped popularize fabulous knitted socks with her new book Toe Up, created the other pattern. “Tangled Vine” features an alternating climbing leaf motif that looks gorgeous knitted in green yarn. The pattern conveniently calls for only one skein of yarn, and may be knitted from toe-to-top or top-to-toe, depending on the knitter’s preference. All three, Kapur’s hat/scarf/mitten patterns, Leverington's shawl pattern and Gardiner’s sock pattern are available only through www.sandrasingh.com, the exclusive source for these designs. They are available as PDF downloads which means no shipping charges apply, unless purchased as a kit, with choice of yarn included. Photographs of the finished pieces can be found on the website. “Isabella” is knit in Malabrigo Merino Worsted, "Desert Rose" is knit in The Alpaca Yarn Company's Suri Elegance and the “Tangled Vine Socks” are knit in Malabrigo Sock, all of which are yarns carried by SandraSingh. Singh is excited about carrying these one-of-a-kind designs as well as many other patterns for knitters of all skill levels. In addition to patterns, her online store is easy to navigate and features hundreds of competitively priced yarns, tools and tips for knitters, books, magazines, and a showcase of customers’ creations. Besides these traditional fall standouts, www.SandraSingh.com will release another new exclusive pattern featuring the work of a different popular designer before Christmas.
