Kapur, of Through the Loop Designs created “Isabella,” a hat/scarf/mitten set that looks like stranded color work, but is actually less difficult to create because the knitter doesn’t have to change yarns. Additionally, the ingenious patterns utilize slipped stitches to look like cabling, a deceptively easy technique that results in a sophisticated look. Leverington, of Goddess Knits, who popularized the Mystery Shawl KALs, was inspired by the desert rose crystal to create her "Desert Rose" shawl. This lacy, triangular shawl is knit in exquisite alpaca lace yarn. Gardiner, of Gardiner Yarn Works, who helped popularize fabulous knitted socks with her new book Toe Up, created the other pattern. “Tangled Vine” features an alternating climbing leaf motif that looks gorgeous knitted in green yarn. The pattern conveniently calls for only one skein of yarn, and may be knitted from toe-to-top or top-to-toe, depending on the knitter’s preference.
