Recently, a lot of countries are facing the water crisis, due to the destructive drought. Yunnan province, the southwest part of China, is visited by the worst drought in 60 years. Nearly 8000 acres are badly affected by the drought, and 10 million people are suffering from water shortage. The same thing is to India. According to Lianhezaobao of Singapore on March 12, India is encountered the crisis of water shortage with the rapid population growth, economic development and increasing need for agricultural water.
Developed countries are also on the list of water shortage. According to the National Geology report, California is facing a huge water crisis, which not only seriously affects crop growth, but also people's normal life can not be guaranteed. Canada had also suffered its worst drought in 60 years in the winter of 2009. Although it did not cause serious consequences, it still had some a bad impact on fishing, mining and so on.
Fortunately, water crisis has attracted many countries’ attention. They have taken measures to deal with this crisis. The tip of Philippine President Gloria Macapagal is saving water. Recently, Arroyo in Manila, called for the citizens to take urgent water-saving measures and make use of water resources rationally.
In Thailand, the government is taking efforts to deal with wastewater treatment. Recently, the world-renowned consulting company, Frost & Sullivan, reported that the Thai government has established a set of integrated measures to cope with wastewater and water saving. And due to the production of high-tech equipment is limited in Thailand, it will to ensure attract foreign capital to ensure the clean water supply.
Water is an irreplaceable resource. With the impacts of rapid economic development, large population, climate change and other issues, water scarcity is already an indisputable fact. Yet, what make us worried much is not only the shortage of water, but also the shortage of coal, oil natural gas, and some other non-renewable resources. We have paid our own lives our lives for industrial development around the world. Though mankind is entitled countless treasures by the nature, it is high time we took measures to save water, save life, and save our lovely planet.
