First you have to decidewhether to trade it in or sell it privately. There are two schools of thoughtson this. There is the person who can’t stand the hassle of selling their car privatelyso go to a dealer to trade the old one in and get the best price they can, knowing that the car they buy will have some kind of guarantee but it will costthem more. Then there is the person who wants to get the best price for theircar so has to sell it privately, then uses that cash to buy a car privately toget it cheaper than it would cost at a dealer, but sacrifices any kind ofguarantee. Then in some cases you get the cross-over where someone tries to geta high price for their car by selling it privately but after weeks of notselling because they are being greedy and have spent a fortune on advertisingthey get desperate to sell the car and end up trading it in to a car dealer. Each method of selling your car has benefits and risks so you have to decidewhich to go for. Using the Internet you can now reach far more buyers than whenyou could only use magazines, plus it can cost less. If you are wanting to sella BMW quickly without any cost or hassle try Buy My BMW. This site sends emailswith details of your car to waiting buyers who then contact you. The problem with selling privately is you have to organize advertisements, thenwait at home for the phone to ring because most people who phone in response toyour ad want to view your car for sale straight away. You can of course putyour mobile number in the ad then carry on with life but the problem then isthat apart from being illegal to speak on the phone whilst driving, it’s justnot a good idea to have a detailed conversation about your car whilst on thephone in case you crash it – sale over. If you are not in a hurry to <ahref="http://www.buymybmw.co.uk"> sell your car</a> you can start by asking a high pricethen reduce it in following weeks. There are numerous ways of finding out thevalue of your car before placing the first ad. Unless you want to sell itquickly don’t under value it. I have kicked myself a few times when, afterplacing an ad to sell my car the phone hasn’t stopped ringing for a week. Itwas obviously too much of a bargain! Trading in can be so much easier, what you have to be aware of is thateverything is negotiable. Remember these two things. Never ‘fall in love’ witha car, and be prepared to walk away from the salesman. Negotiate until he willlet you leave the showroom without making the sale, then you know he hasreached his absolute bottom price.
