Sight Seeing

Being the third largest state in the union makes for a lot of attention and also makes for a lot of opportunities for varying sights and sounds. The state is huge and there is such a variety and plethora of sight and sounds and tastes and viewpoints. From the north to the south, and everywhere in between, California has something for everybody. California has more things to offer than most other entire countries. There are mountains and forests and beaches, historic landmarks and plenty of tourist destinations. The only problem with California is that it is so far away for us that live on the East coast. San Diego is a great destination. It is a military town with a huge Navel yard. The best thing about San Diego has got to be the weather. It is nearly perfect all year long, rarely getting too hot or too cold. Most visitors to the city don't want to leave after their visit; they fall in love with the city and the people. California is home to the famous Redwood Forests. These nature preserves are home to some of the largest living organisms on Earth. The Redwood trees are massive monoliths, a testament to nature's ability to produce miracles. The trees are legendary around the world and some of them were living five hundred years before Columbus discovered America. They are truly ancient in the land of the New World. California is also home to Disneyland. It's the other Disney theme park besides the one in Orlando. It is a great place for kids of all ages and is a real treat for anyone. Who can argue the fact that getting your picture taken with Pluto isn't cool? Everybody knows that Hollywood is in California, but be careful where you go while you are there. It is not what most people imagine and you have to plan your trip to the area carefully. The Golden Gate Bridge is next on the list and is the back drop to the beautiful city of San Francisco and is a breathtaking sight. After seeing these beautiful sights, how about something a little creepier? Take a tour of the haunted prison on the island, the world famous Alcatraz. It is known worldwide and is a famous landmark with movies and books written about it and its famous inmates.
