Term life insurance is one of the most popular choices by those in recent years who are getting life insurance. When you buy term life insurance you are paying for coverage for a term or a certain period of time. Once the time is up you paid for you can continue but at a very high premium price which is one of the cons of term life insurance. The popularity of this type of insurance can probably be traced back to the fact that the insurance is very straight-forward and much like auto insurance in that you pay a premium and get covered for a certain period of time and once that time is up you can buy insurance again.
Life insurance seems simple in some cases but the pros and cons are what you need to really look at since every type of life insurance is different and choosing the wrong type has implications on taxes, premiums, and how much your family actually receives if you were to die. Every life insurance plan needs to be looked at and custom fit to your unique situation for it to work but many are choosing term insurance to cover those times when the life insurance is needed most such as when you have small children or have a large number of expenses outstanding due to businesses or just credit. You don't want to leave your family with a huge pile of bills and debt collectors knocking down the door if the unexpected were to happen.
So overall term life insurance is simply paying a premium to cover your life for a certain period of time. The premiums are also usually lower and the higher your monthly premium with an insurer the more coverage and options you have with your plan. Always research insurance types before making a decision on what is right for you as well as consult with an attorney and accountant to go more in-depth with any type of conflict or problems that may arise.
