Tony Sparano led the Miami Dolphins to an 11-5 record in his first NFL season as head coach of the team back in 2008. That's been the last sign of hope for the team as it has gone7-9 the past two years and is winless this season. That's not a trend that majority owner Stephen M. Ross can possibly be happy about.
And so, Sparano's future with the club has been a topic of discussion in the offices of the Dolphins in recent weeks, according to the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel. One question, the source said, has been whether to just go ahead and fire Sparano if the team loses to the Denver Broncos this weekend or let him finish out this already dismal season.
Meanwhile, the Sun-Sentinel also reports that Dolphins co-captain Karlos Dansby(notes) is extremely turned off by fans asking the team to "Suck for Luck." In other words, lose your games so the Fins can draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck next year.
"It's not right, bro. It's not right," Dansby said, according to the Sun-Sentinel. "We put too much into this, man, to have the fans say that - period, point blank - or even promote that campaign. It's kind of sad."
