The Case for the Burka/ Hijab

T he practice of hijab among Muslim women is one based on religious doctrine, although the Qur'an does not mandate it. Instead, it comes from the Hadith of Sahih Bukhari . The Hadith, the "tradition of Mohammed," reveals the teachings of the Prophet to believers. Views are very varied amongst Muslim women, some for it and others strongly against. It is regarded by a few as freedom of movement, liberty and protection from male gazes. The veil is not an exclusive requirement by some factions of Islam as the Catholic Church also practices it in the form of Nuns. although not the whole face is covered. In most Islamic countries the Hijab is not a requirement as a lot of Muslims think it is a relic from the dark ages and there is no room for it in a modern world. However in a country like Saudi Arabia you will be stoned and beaten to death if you dont have it on,  but they have a history of abusing and decapitating females for even the slightest excuse and if anything it is an argument to make sure that it is banned. The Burka and Hijab is not a religious requirement but a display of subservience to the Male and a lot of Muslim women are forced to wear them by jealous husbands. Its interesting to note that the majority of women who speak out the most for its continued  use are newly converted gullible white women from the West who have been persuaded by their husbands, that to be a good Muslim, you must wear it. The French banned the use of the scarf in 2004 and have now introduced a ban on wearing the Burka which will attract a fine of 750 Euros. It is a very brave move as no doubt it will attract the wrong types to its shores, intent on keeping their women hidden and subservient and  to cause mayhem by criminal and terrorist activities. The Burka is without doubt one of the favourite attire of suicide bombers and terrorists. One of our own terrorists escaped from the London Bombings wearing one. A good enough reason to ban the wearing of this attire for national safety. All of my Muslim friends are against the Burka and hijab as it demeans women and takes away their rights as human beings in a modern civilised world. We should follow France in the  lead to save Muslim women from this abhorrent practice. Birmingham Council have received a complaint from a woman who demands her right to wear the Hijab in her photo for her driving licence........and guess what.......they are considering it !!!  (yes another white British convert) If the Islamic population are not careful by restricting the number of demands being made daily to change the face of the United Kingdom to one of Sharia law, there will be a major backlash and extreme civil commotion. Something either side does not want as we need to live in harmony together. Its interesting to note that the indigenous populations of Europe have an average birth rate of 1.8 children and amongst the Muslim population it is 8.1 Luckily I am an atheist and think all major religions are just very successful businesses although I was brought up as a strict Roman Catholic so am aware of all religious connotations but not biased either way.
