The dimensions of banners and why they are organized.

Web banners are something that everyone is familiar with - we see them every day over and over again on almost every web site on the internet. They are one of the most popular form of online advertisement so it is not that very surprising that everyone puts them on their website. That is a nice and easy way of making money and many people are aware of that.

What you may not notice is that there are many different formats of the banner ads or at least it looks that way. They come in many sizes - you can have a small button or a super-sized banner. They come in almost any size, from the very tiny ones to really huge ones.

Web banner sizes are not something you can decide on yourself, though. It would be a real mess if anyone could do that. Thats is why we have standard web banner sizes. That way we can avoid the mess and keep things organized. It is much easier this way.
