THE FUTURE OF E-COMMERCE

The future of E-commerce is a little hard to predict. However, due to statistics, it will likely increase over the next few years.

According to statistics, e-commerce has been rising steadily, especially over 2008 to 2010.

What I Predict The Future Of E-Commerce to Be.

I predict that E-Commerce will increase steadily, however, there will still be a lot of security risks. In fact, they could increase because new technology will appear and like new programs, new risks will also appear, such as new viruses, spyware, Spam E-mail, etc. Also, the use of Mobile Broadband, WiFi Technology and other wireless communication will steadily grow, as we have seen a massive growth in WiFi in the last few years. ‘Around the world, WiFi has established itself as the quiet achiever in wireless broadband…’
(Paul Budde Communication Pty Ltd., Aug 2008, Pages: 8). This shows that WiFfi is now one of the most widely used ways of connecting to the Internet (the World Wide Web). More businesses are also working from home, meaning that in years to come, employers will no longer need employees to work at the premises of the business and they will in time become automated with the use of artificial intelligence and expert systems such as Data Mining Software and robots. This will make processes such as orders, transactions and inputting records will become a lot faster and a lot more errors will be spotted because of the use of the Data Mining Software. Also, with the use of Fibre Optic Cable (Virgin Media, BT, etc), Broadband is becoming steadily faster meaning greater productivity, more tasks being done at higher speeds (even for home users), which makes it more efficient for businesses because the employees and employer can spare more time for other jobs that need to be done. If E-Commerce goes the way it is going, jobs will be done an awful lot faster, meaning more time or any extra work.
