The History of Zentai(Zentai is dressed by dancers, acrobats or high altitude)

Zentai is dressed by dancers, acrobats or high altitude acrobats such special actors, and some special post staffs. It is a kind of tight clothes, and sometimes it matches with long sleeve, high neck or the trouser legs which are stretch to the ankle. Zentai is divided into zentai in full, zentai in half, skintight clothes and dresses, skintight short trousers and so on. There are many kinds of fashionable types of zentai. Step by step, zentai in full arose, it is skintight clothes according to its name. Generally speaking, it is used for Kigurum cosplay (performances worn mask, generally made up of CD), cartoon show, acrobatic performance, the sexy lingeries and some other artistic modellings, etc.

The name zentai arose at first in 1886. At the beginning of the twentieth century, it started to be dressed by the actors work in a circus and acrobatic shows. From 1920 to 1930, zentai became a bathing suit. The women bathing suit in full is still used up to now. In later days, zentai was beginning to be dressed by dancers, such as the dance girls in Broadway. The skintight clothes matches with skintight trousers and socks.

In the 1950s, the traditional style of zentai was still used by actors work in a circus, but also it began to be used as a sports clothing, mainly in some schools and healthy institutions. The traditional zentai was generally black and thick. From 1950 to 1970, the style of the zentai had few changes, the rich and colorful zentai had been not popular until in 1970s. Often we could see the zentai in sporting clothing and ballet.

By the end of 1970s, zentai already widely used in sporting clothing and the daily clothes, such as in disco dancing and aerobics dancing. These zentai was made up of all kinds of nylon and spandex as well as more traditional cotton. Exercise video of some celebrities such as Jane Fonda also promoted the popularity of the zentai. At the end of the 1980s, the sport clothing was similar with Gini, but the Gini decorated with belt and shoulder belt. Up to the early 90s, Zentai in the sports almost replaced the bra and shorts.
