  Pueblos Magicos The Pueblos Magicos (Magic Towns) program was initiated by the Mexican government to help preserve towns that embodied the best of Mexican culture, history and tradition. Launched in 2001, the program provides financial assistance to places that "reflect the beauty of traditional Mexican culture" according to the Secretary or Tourism. The program has met with great success in terms of increasing tourism and bringing a much needed business into these areas. Currently, there are 34 towns that are officially listed as Pueblos Magicos. If you want to experience Mexico's rich history and colonial architectural past then these places are definitely worth visiting. El Fuerte The Gateway to Copper Canyon. El Fuerte was founded in 1564 by Spanish conquistador Don Francisco de Ibarra, the first explorer in the treasures of the Western Sierra Madre mountains. In 1610 a fort was built to ward off the fierce Zuaque and Tehueco Indians, who constantly harassed the Spaniards. El Fuerte was the gateway to the last frontiers of northern Indian territories of Sonora, Arizona and California.   Cosala Cosala is located 155 km. from state capital Culiacán. The Royal of the Eleven Thousand Virgins, shortened its name to the Royal Mines of Cosala is the municipal seat and without doubt one of the most beautiful villages of the state, keeping a quiet atmosphere that seem like you are in a story book. As if history had stopped in the times of the Spaniards. Every little street is a delight. One would want to stay at least a couple of days in Cosala. Something in the air inspires romance, an ideal place for lovers... Alamos Located in the southern part of Sonora’s mountain range, about 50 kilometers east of Navojoa, this settlement was born as a silver mine town back in the 1680's. It is considered a colonial jewel because of its unspoiled architecture and is also known as the “City of Gates”. The city’s atmosphere is filled with history. The church in the town’s center plaza, the Chapel of Zapopan, the pavilion, the gazebo, the cemetery, the city government palace, the old jail, and the main square are just a few of the places that have helped shape the Mexico of today. Todos Santos A natural paradise where desert meets the Sierra Laguna mountain range.  The Southern Baja peninsula hosts several unique eco-systems that are special to us.  In December we watch all the Whales migrate through our coastline.  Todos Santos (All Saints) is on the Pacific coast about 45 miles north of Cabo San Lucas. As you enter by car, Todos Santos will delight in this Oasis of palms & fruit trees producing delicious mangos, papayas, avocados & more. The fields of agriculture and our quaint (growing) village sides-up to miles of pristine, un-spoiled beaches.  We attract beach aficionados, bird-watchers, hikers, wild-life enthusiasts, kayakers, surfers, snorkelers, scuba-divers, fishermen...
