Do you remember the days of America Online Instant Messenger aka AIM, or the excitement you felt when your computer announced that “You’ve Got Mail”? Well, it seems that Social Media Websites such as Facebook, Twitter, (to name a few) seem to have banished those forms of communication and have quite possibly taken over the world as the new and improved ways to connect with one another. Tagging a friend, Connecting with a long lost relative, “Liking” your friends pictures, Tweeting random facts of your day have all become a part of our everyday life. Its okay, you can admit you’re addicted! – just like the rest of the world. Instant Communication is at our finger tips and it doesn’t just stop there…

Social Media Websites and their popularity are sky rocketing to levels we have never dare dreamed of. Chat rooms have become a memory of the past the day sites such as MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIN, YouTube, among hundreds of others were created. The possibilities are endless when knowing that we’re just one click away from interacting with almost anyone in the entire world. I could not believe my ears when I heard my Grandma tell me she was creating a Facebook account! It makes me wonder, if in the next couple of years, the traditional way of connecting with someone such as e-mail will be wiped out completely. Just something to think about. :)
