One of the most important laws of ebay is the presentation of what you are selling.
If you have a post up for a *like new* pair of Nikes that you only wore twice, and your price is right with the competition, your shipping is fair, and the information provided is truthful, BUT the photograph is clearly from the nike website... You Have Lost All Your Credibility. Nobody will really believe that you have those exact shoes in the brand new condition they appear. Unless you have a gigantic amount of shoes in surplus and have the ratings, reviews, and the "Top Seller" award from the ebay site, it will be a challenge to sell an item that doesn't match the picture. So do your best with a picture, and edit it to size. You can download a free program made by google called
Picasa this program works great for what we want to accomplish. Use the features and apply whatever you need to, to make that photo stand out from all the rest. This creates the trust between you and the German kid who wants to spend $100 on Nikes.
Now that you have a great picture, it's time to work on the description. No such thing as a white lie. You have to be honest here, your picture is the proof in the pudding! Use key words, part numbers, as much detail as possible. Put your keywords in the *Title* section. Keywords will be the words that are matched when people search for the product. If you really need to go into depth, use the sub-title.
Once again, being honest is the way to go. The buyer can rate your service as bad and people will notice it and not buy the rest of your stuff! Ebay can be a great tool!
If you follow these steps and play by the ebay laws you can make a good bit of money off of your stuff!
here's another great example of internet business! Focus on presentations, provide more than sufficient information, and remember that pricing is as important as honesty. If you want people to come back, you must aim for good ratings!
