No.1: David Beckham

David Beckham, one of the most prominent athletes and advertising star, is probably a symbol of the sexist athlete. His soccer career started as he was a child; as the long term soccer skill training, he became captain of the England national team in 2000 through 2006.

Beckham used to play mid-filed for Manchester (1993-2003), Madrid club (2003-2007) and now plays for Los Angeles team. He has also recorded in scoring three different FIFA World Cups.

His best soccer season was in 1999 - 2000. In those days, he was in Manchester team and helped the team win the Premiere League. Meanwhile he married with Victoria the Posh Spice girl; moreover they had their first born child Brooklyn in 1999.


On July 1, 2003 David Beckham began to play for Real Madrid (in Spain). The man spread his charm to Spanish fans as well.

In 2005, He took part in bidding for 2012 Olympic Games for London - a shot in the promoting trailer. The trailer was also regarded as a success to hold 2012 Games.

In 2007, Beckham played his final for Madrid and won a medal. At the same time, he claimed to play for Los Angeles Galaxy due to contract expiration.

Now he played for Galaxy as he signed a five-year contract with the club. So we may meet him one day without visiting Great Britain.

Andrew Roddick is a tennis player who ranked World No.1. He got Grand Slam singles champion as he won it at US Open 2003, the rest two were gotten at Wimbledon. He and Federer are the only rivals to finish ATP season Top 10 each of the past seven years.

Roddick is famous for his powerful serves and forehands. He holds the fastest serve records in professional tennis (249.5KM/h). He was on the Davis Cup team which won the 2007 Davis Cup.

He defeated Dmitry Tursunov of the Russian Davis Cup team, the defending champions, in the finals.



No. 3: Roger Federer

Roger Federer, currently ranked world No.2, is a Swiss professional tennis player. He used to be World No.1 player from Febrary 2 2005 to August 17 2008 with a 237-consecutive-week record. He is considered to be one of the best male singles tennis player of all time.

Federer gets 13 Grand Slam singles titles in Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. He also has a storied rivalry with Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who succeeded Federer as the World No. 1 player in 2008.



No.4: Tom Brady

Tom Brady is a football quarterback player who plays for New England Patriots of the National Football League. He is widely considered as one of the best players of all time because of his powerful performance.

So far, Tom has played four times in Super Bowl with winning three of them, two MVP awards as well. Brady was named as Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of year 2005. He also helped set the record for the longest consecutive win streak in NFL history with 21 straight wins over two seasons.



No. 5: Ljungberg


Freddie Ljungberg is a Swedish professional football player; he currently plays for Seattle Sounders FC, which recently got its debut in Major Soccer on 19th March 2009.

He used to be captain of the Swedish National team until his retirement announced after Euro 2008.

Ljungberg is also a male model who was the model for Calvin Klein underwear till 2007. He also represented Nike, Procter & Gamble, and L'Oreal. Recently he represents Puma and Pepsi as well.


No.6: Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Yazid Zidane (popularly called Zizou) is a retired French football player. He had played in France, Italy, and Spain for professional teams. He was also a member of French National team and helped the team win 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000, UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid 2002.

He was nominated and rewarded the European Footballer of the Year 1998. The talent of Zidane was recognized in the list of the World's greatest footballers in 2004. Zidane retired after FIFA 2006 World Cup. It's a pity for us to witness his retirement.



No.7: Raphael Nadal

Rapheal(Refael) Nadal Parera is a Spain famous tennis player with World No.1 rank. Six Grand Slam singles and 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles enabled and strengthened his world first tennis title. Moreover, he became the first Spaniard to win the Australian Open.

Fun enough, he has a long storied rivalry with Roger Federer, which is also regarded as the contest history of these two world greatest tennis players. Nadal was ranked World No. 2 behind Federer for a record 160 weeks before earning the top spot. According to the statistics, he has won 13 of their 19 singles matches, as well as all five of their most recent encounters.

The year 2008 seemed a lucky year to him - Nadal beat Federer by taking over the World No.1 rank, incidentally, he was offered the prestigious Prince of Asturias Award for his sports achievements.
