It's common knowledge that if you have an opportunity to travel to Australia's Tropical North Queensland then you have to visit Daintree Rainforest, an amazing place and one of the largest attractions in the area. This particular rainforest is extremely unique, not just a walk in the woods, as it has some of the most incredible, rarely found plants around. All of these special plants support a very delicate ecosystem in this area, the twenty eight unusual plants here have their own specific place that is strategic for the whole environment of Daintree. They have a role in supporting the other plants, so a balance exists amongst all of them but each one has it's own role to play. Some of these plants are not too friendly so you need to be watching for them while you are walking in the area. One of them is a flowering plant called the Idiot Fruit, discovered in 1970 only because it was causing death for cattle who ingested it, as it's toxic for some animals. Another plant to watch for is the Blue Quandons, again only found here, it has a blue fruit that makes a cover for other plants below it not to recieve too much sunshine, this looks like a cool roof in the rainforest region. With all the gorgeous plants within the rainforest, there are some of them you need to know about so that you can not run into them while out on your adventure. One of them is called the wait-a-while vine, hanging from trees or laying on the ground. It has little thin spikey things that will do some damage to skin, clothes or whatever else is in it's path. Something else is the stinging tree, it has microscopic prickles on very large leave that will cause immense stinging and itching. Make sure to look at a picture of the plant before you go so you'll know it when you see it so you won't brush up against the prickles. There are many amazing plants and creatures to see in the rainforest, but keep in mind, if you don't know what you are looking at, don't touch it. It is always best to check with a tour guide or park ranger before touching any plant or animal that is unfamiliar to you. That is just good rainforest safety. Before you reserve anything online for your Tropical North Queensland vacation visit tropicalnorthqueensland.com today.
