Honestly if you are looking to rent a vehicle in another country for a holiday or business trip, the process is actually pretty much the same from country to country. Some countries call it car hire and some call it car rental, but other than that you will find a lot of similarities when renting a vehicle for your personal use. A great thing that has become popular is rental agencies in the United States have been affiliating with rental agencies in other countries. So when you are traveling to a different country, you can go through one of the agencies that you normally use at home and see who they recommend or already work with so that you know you have a reliable company on deck and you won't have to worry or stress about it. If your travel is to an international destination then you will need to obtain a document known as an IDP or International Driving Permit. Although, there are several countries in which this is not necessary, it is best to get the permit just in case. An IDP will be obtained in your own country and then will be carried along with your actual driver's license. Several countries also say that you have to have an international insurance certificate. This paper certifies that your vehicle that you are renting is insured. When traveling internationally, your credit cards will cover your rental vehicles; however a car rental agent will want to see your international insurance certificate before handing you the keys to anything that you drive. International travel and international driving do require a few extra documents, so don't be unprepared. Take the time to figure out exactly the documents you will need for the destination that you will be traveling to. You can access this information through a car rental agency (speak directly to someone at the location that you will be picking up the vehicle for more reliable local information) or through your travel agent. You may access this information online as well or contact a DMV office in your area to inquire about international travel. Brisbane car hire is what they would call car rental here, the name varies but the process is the same basically. If you are traveling and looking for a cheap car hire brisbane they have a lot to give.
