What if you have the old Apple TV and would like to put the AVCHD videos from camcorder, or the BD movies to Apple TV for HDTV? A video conversion tool which supports both AVCHD videos and BD disk would help a lot.
Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac is the recommended BD and DVD ripper and AVCHD video converter for your iMac/MacBook Pro with Leopard and Snow Leopard. With Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac, you just need an external Blu-ray Rom to read your BD disk movies, and then convert the BD movies and camcorder videos to Apple TV compatible format in 720p.

Apple TV supports H.264 .mp4, .mov, .m4v with 720p and 30 fps, while MPEG-4 videos with 640x480 and Motion JPEG .avi with 1280x720. According to BD movies and AVCHD videos in 1920x1080, it would be better to get 720p video, and .mp4 is recommended with the state-of-art compression.
Here I would like to demonstrate a few simple steps with Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac to convert and rip BD DVD and AVCHD videos to 720p MP4 for Apple TV.
1. Import camcorder videos by clicking the "Add" button from the folder like AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM. If you insert Blu-ray disk to BD-Rom or DVD disk to Apple built-in SuperDrive, just click "BD/DVD Folder" button to select the movie from Devices in navigation bar.
2. Click the "Format" option and choose iPad > iPad HD Video(*.mp4) as output format. We are using this format because it outputs 720p video and the iPad video also works for Apple TV.
3. Click the convert button under the preview window to start the conversion from BD movies and AVCHD camcorder to Apple TV MP4 in 720p.
When the conversion is done, sync the output videos to Apple TV via iTunes, and you can play BD movies and AVCHD videos on Apple TV with HDTV anytime you want.
Tips:
Aunsoft Blu-ray Video Converter Ultimate works as a Blu-ray ripper, DVD ripper, video converter, and even video editor. It helps you handle almost all media file formats and convert them to the compatible formats for your iPad, iPod, PS3, Android phone, home network connected equipments, home theater systems, non-HDCP TV, WD TV, etc.
