The way you speak your mind is more often than not a testament to who you are as a person. As far as this question is concerned, your words should specifically reflect your personality. So do ask, “What should I say in my personal statement to gain admission to law school?” A simple answer to that question is that, “You should say what they basically want to hear.” Rather than telling you what exactly you should say, which is inappropriate for me since personal statements should be genuine, this article will guide you to how you are going to deliver your words straight to their admissions list.
You should make your reader believe that you should be admitted. That is the first thing you should always remember. They have certain reasons for students to be accepted in their law school. They are looking for studious, hard working and seriously dedicated potential law school students who are not afraid to spend hours, or an entire waking day if needs be, to study. So you should first ask yourself if you could fulfill this expectation. Given that the answer is yes, then it is up to you to put into words that they can believe you when you say you want to enter law school.
You should make your reader clear away any doubts he or she may have about you. From the undying phrase of lawyers and judges when they come up with a verdict, “beyond reasonable doubt”, this is who you are supposed to be for them -- a person, beyond reasonable doubt, that is qualified to attend law school. In order to do this, you must show them that you are competent, compelling/authoritative, honest, and someone of good breeding or personality. Create an impression for them by truthfully telling them about yourself, that you are exactly the kind of person who deserves to be admitted.
Lastly, you should make the reader act on your behalf. Being good with presenting yourself, as explained by the two paragraphs above, is not enough. You have to be very good to get into law school, good enough that they would go on and root for you. You should show them that no matter how good you are, you need them to see and be convinced that you are truly as good as you wish to be. That way, they can act on your behalf.
