This new operating system is applicable to iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPod Touch (three generations) over multiple Apple devices and they pledged to increase hundreds of feature updates. More important the speed will be faster.
Sasha • Sagan, the author of technology blog used six instruments to take the running speed test respectively to iOS 4 and iOS 3.1.3. The following are the results of the test.

Obviously, iOS 4 and iOS 3.1.3 are different in running time. But the ability to run large applications of iOS 4 improved effectively. In addition, iOS 4 can support multi-tasking. Listing to music while watching another page and linked to MSN is very easy. It can be achieved just needs some simply setting.
In the test, BenchTest and BenchMark are widely used industry benchmark; Sunspider, V8 Richards, V8 EarleyBoyer mainly measure about JS decoding speed of the system. NFSU is the time-consuming of launching large-scale applications.
