The winner of this category depends heavily on how Glee-happy the Emmy voters get. If you see Glee winning a lot of early categories, you can write in the victory here for Matthew Morrison. Otherwise, Alec Baldwin is the likeliest candidate. Dark horse candidate Jim Parsons is a fan favorite, but his show has usually gotten the old Emmy snub.

James Joseph "Jim" Parsons (born March 24, 1973) is an American television and film actor best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, with his performance often cited as a significant reason for the program's success. On July 16, 2009, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on The Big Bang Theory. In August 2009, he won the Television Critics Association award for the highest individual achievements in comedy. In April 2010, he received the National Association of Broadcasters Television Chairman's Award for a significant break-through in one or more specific art discipline

Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm)
Lawrence Gene "Larry" David (born July 2, 1947) is an American actor, writer, comedian, and producer. In 1989, he teamed up with Jerry Seinfeld to co-create the television series Seinfeld, where he also acted as head writer and executive producer. David's work won him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1993. In 1999, he created the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, a mostly improvised sitcom in which he stars as a fictionalized version of himself. Formerly a standup comedian, David went into television comedy, writing and starring in ABC's Fridays, as well as writing briefly for Saturday Night Live. He was voted by other comedians the 23rd-greatest comedian of all time in British Channel 4's poll The Comedians' Comedian.

Matthew Morrison (Glee)
Matthew James Morrison (born October 30, 1978) is an American musical theater and television actor and singer. He is best known for starring in multiple Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including Link Larkin in Hairspray on Broadway, and most notably for his Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated role as Will Schuester on the smash Fox television show Glee (2009-present). He has also received a Satellite Award for this role.


Tony Shalhoub (Monk)
Anthony Marcus "Tony" Shalhoub (born October 9, 1953) is an American actor. His television work includes the role of Antonio Scarpacci on Wings and sleuth Adrian Monk on the TV series Monk. He has won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for his work in Monk.

Steve Carell (The Office)
Steven John "Steve" Carell (born August 16, 1962)[1] is an American actor, comedian, voice artist, producer, director and writer. Carell became famous for his roles in the television series The Daily Show with Jon Stewart from 1999 to 2004, and The Office from 2005 onwards. He has also starred in several Hollywood films.

Alec Baldwin (30 Rock)
Alexander Rae "Alec" Baldwin III (born April 3, 1958) is an American actor who has appeared on film, stage and television. He currently stars as Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. He has received two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. He is the oldest of the Baldwin brothers working in Hollywood.
