In 1908 Anna M. Jarvis started a campaign for the celebration of Mother’s Day to pay tribute to her mom. After a few years of campaigning across the world she was able to make the people understand the importance of celebrating this day. And President Woodrow Wilson announced Mother's Day as an official holiday in the year 1914. This is the recent story of the celebration of this day but the tradition of honoring mothers is centuries old.
